This hotel was unique and pretty standard and I liked it. The location was best possible and historic, in downtown san diego, and the view was panoramic, too. Before bed I went to Patrick's Ii for a nightcap, it's just close to the property.
Some people working there were a bit rude.

Tommy

The location was fantastic, with plenty of restaurants and bars within walking distance. The staff were friendly and helpful, making check-in a breeze. The room was modern and clean, with a comfortable bed and all the necessary amenities.
My stay was marred by a few issues. First, there was a lot of noise late at night, making it difficult to sleep.

The staff was very friendly and helpful, especially Samara. When we left the hotel to explore SD for the day, we returned to find a very nice surprise in our room. Nice touch! The interior design is stylish and ultramodern with a lot of fun gadgets to play with (e.g., remote controlled mood lighting). The location of the hotel is perfect for people who want to explore San Diego's Gaslamp neighborhood. All you have to do is walk outside of the hotel and you are right in the center of the action.
I liked the shower set-up (right in the corner of the bedroom) because I was with my girlfriend, but I could see how this would be extremely awkward if I were traveling with friends, family or colleagues. If you are in this situation, this is not the hotel for you. Also, I didn't think the street noise really was as bothersome as some of the other reviewers have been reporting. As long as you keep the windows closed and you are not a very light sleeper, you should be fine.

We had a fantastic stay for our anniversary! The room was stunning and much bigger than expected. The staff, especially Matthew and Cindy, went above and beyond to make our stay amazing. Close to restaurants and entertainment, in the heart of the gaslamp district. Great location for baseball, the harbor, and nightlife, all within a short walk. The hotel facilities were modern and the staff were friendly and accommodating. Nothing all good.

The design was great and the staff was awesome it was definitely an experience the hotel is definitely for the type of person that is into the nightlife
Being on the second floor was great until the night came and the nightlife started. It's definitely for the people who enjoy the late night partying because the noise was mad crazy.
